Dynamics

Responsible for any system that provides stability, safety and braking by mechanically interfacing with the track. Typical projects include pneumatic braking, safety wheel design, etc.

Electromagnetic Focused Teams

Levitation

Responsible for robust, contactless, energy-efficient guidance of the pod along the track.

Skills: Electromagnetics, permanent magnets, control theory, system modeling, ANSYS Maxwell, MATLAB/SIMULINK, sensors

Propulsion

Responsible for providing a non-mechanical force that moves the vehicle along the track. Equivalent to an engine to a car or rocket.

Power Electronics designs and procures the batteries that supply power to every subsystem as well as the circuitry needed to carry power throughout the pod
